Whole Wheat Bread: Practical and Simple Recipe

It is a fact that vegan eating is here to stay. There are more and more people who follow this lifestyle and its holistic, plant-based diet. When you want to incorporate new habits, it can be a bit difficult to know where to start. If you are in that process, we share a recipe that you will love.

What is a Vegan Diet?

The vegan diet avoids consuming foods of animal origin: meat, eggs, milk, and their derivatives. On the other hand, the plant-based diet, in addition to avoiding these foods, also excludes ultra-processed products such as French fries, chocolates, cookies, among others.

When we eat whole grain, what we achieve is to obtain more nutrients since when the flour is processed, it is made with the whole grain and not only with a part conserving more fiber, vitamins, and minerals.

Every time we eat vegan, we are reducing our consumption of saturated fat and cholesterol. When we follow a vegan, plant-based diet, we incorporate more phytonutrients, fibers, vitamins, and minerals.

A Recipe for Vegan Bread

sta recipe will serve you whether you want to follow a vegan diet as plant-based; it does not carry any of the foods mentioned above. It only has six ingredients and is very simple; since my philosophy is: practical and easy.

We are going to need:

-400 gr of whole wheat flour

-1 cup of warm water

-4 tablespoons of seeds of choice (I used sesame, chia, and flax)

-2 tablespoons of oil

-1 teaspoon salt

-10 gr of nutritional yeast

Procedure for Making Vegan Bread

We will start by mixing all the dry ingredients, and then we will place the liquids and begin to incorporate them until they form a uniform dough.

Then, we will knead for about 5 minutes and let the dough rest for at least an hour.

After that time, we will knead a little more to aerate it. We preheat the oven for 5 minutes, and then we put the future bread for 35 minutes at 180 degrees. And ready! After that, we remove it from the oven to taste. Watch the whole procedure step by step in the video.
