Make a hole and drain the juice

There are three indentations on one side of the coconut. Insert a thin knife or screwdriver into one of them. Make a small hole. Take any suitable container and pour the coconut juice into it.

Put the coconut in the oven

Preheat oven to 190° C, place the baking sheet with coconut on a medium level. After around 10 minutes the coconut shell starts to crack.

Wrap the coconut in a towel and bag

Place the coconut in a tea towel and tight bag, then bang it several times against the countertop. The nut should split into pieces.

Peel and shell the coconut

Remove the coconut from the towel and use a knife to separate the white flesh from the shell carefully. Then, use a regular knife or vegetable peeler to remove the remaining brown skin. Done!
