How To Get Rid Of Kitchen Odors If You Don’t Have a Hood

Even if there is no extractor hood in your kitchen, do not deny yourself preparing aromatic dishes. There are several surefire ways to eliminate strong odors. Here goes.

1. Ventilate the room

First, close the doors that lead to the kitchen. This will prevent odors from spreading throughout the apartment—open windows. If you have a portable fan, point it towards the window. This will help the smell disappear much faster.

2. Do not delay cleaning

Do not leave the cooking oil in the pan. Wipe off all greasy and sticky surfaces immediately after cooking. Take out the trash without waiting for the bucket to fill to the brim. Do not leave leftover food on the table, but put it in the refrigerator.

3. Surround yourself with pleasant scents

Simmer water with lemon zest, cinnamon sticks, or other ingredients of your choice over low heat. Leave it on for at least 30 minutes and up to an hour. Remember to turn it off. Otherwise, you will also have to get rid of the smell of burnt cinnamon.

4. Make coffee

A cup of aromatic coffee in the morning will provide a boost of vivacity and mask unpleasant odors.
