It is a dish that will always triumph in a meeting with friends, a children’s snack, lunch during the week, or a special weekend dinner.

As it is one of the favorite foods of the little ones, we can take advantage of the homemade hamburgers so that they try foods that they would not otherwise want to eat, such as fish or vegetables. And the good thing about hamburgers is that they can be made in many shapes and flavors. In this article, we will tell you how to cook hamburgers in 5 different recipes.

How to Cook Burgers on the Grill

We’ll start with the most straightforward and most standard recipe for homemade burgers. This preparation will save you from any trouble and will leave you standing in front of friends or guests, as they will be full of flavor and very good seasoned. You only need the ingredients that we detail below:

  • 500 g of minced meat (preferably mixed, with a proportion of 50% beef and 50% pork)
  • 1 tablespoon of parsley
  • 1 onion
  • 1 pinch of pepper
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 15 ml of soy sauce
  • 15 ml mustard
  • 15 ml Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 clove garlic

With these ingredients, it will be enough to prepare four hamburgers. If you need to make more, increase the number of ingredients proportionally. To cook homemade burgers, follow these steps.

  1. Cut the onion into small cubes.
  2. Heat a frying pan with a pinch of oil and cook the onion. When it’s ready, set it aside and let it cool.
  3. In a bowl, place the minced meat and season with the hamburger dressing. Do this by adding the salt, pepper, parsley, finely chopped garlic, soy sauce, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Also, add the onion once it has cooled.
  4. Take balls of meat and go assembling the hamburgers.
  5. You can cook the burgers in the same pan in which you poached the onions. Add a little more oil and place them one by one in the pan.
  6. Let them cook for about 5 minutes over medium heat and turn them when they are golden brown.

How to Cook Breaded Hamburgers

Another option that we present to you is the breaded hamburgers. They are crunchy and delicious, perfect for a different burger, and you can surprise without trying too hard. These are the ingredients you need to prepare it:

  • 500 g minced meat
  • 100 g of flour
  • 1 envelope of onion soup
  • 2 eggs
  • Olive oil
  • 100 g of breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon of parsley
  • 1 tablespoon of oregano
  • Tomato
  • Salt

With everything ready, we are going to prepare them:

  • Mix the minced meat with the onion envelope, the parsley, and one of the eggs. Take meatballs and shape them into a hamburger.
  • Coat the burgers. Pass them first in the egg, then in the flour, and finally in the breadcrumbs.
  • Heat a good amount of oil in the skillet over medium-high heat. Insert the burgers and wait until you see the golden brown to turn them.
  • Take them out and serve them as you like, in the form of a hamburger or accompanied by other garnishes such as rice, salad, or potatoes. Sprinkle salt and oregano on top.

How to Cook Hamburgers with Potatoes

This is the classic and most requested dish. A hamburger with potatoes will always be a success that will get you out of more than one trouble. You can make these hamburgers in the pan, on the barbecue, on the grill, or even on the embers. Look for these simple ingredients.

  • 1 hamburger (prepared with any of the options we previously proposed)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 potato
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 lettuce
  • 1 onion
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Vegetable oil

This recipe is for a single dish, but if you want to expand it because you are more at home or have guests, you must increase the amounts proportionally.

  • Wash the potato well and peel it into long sticks.
  • Pour a generous amount of oil into the pan and, when hot, turn the potatoes over and leave them until golden brown. Take them out and lay them on absorbent paper to get rid of excess oil.
  • Make the hamburgers following the steps we have given you previously. The point of the meat will depend on your taste; if we like them well done, you should make a few small cuts in the central part to make inside.
  • Chop the onion and add it to the pan until golden.
  • If you like to serve your patties with hamburger buns, place each one on a bun.
  • Cut two tomato slices and place them, together with a lettuce leaf, on the hamburger. You can also brown the tomato in the pan if you like.
  • Fry the egg, sprinkle it and make sure the yolk is not overcooked. To spice up the egg, be sure to coat the edges of the egg with oil, so they cook crisp.

The hamburger, as we have mentioned, can go with or without bread, red meat, chicken, or vegetables, you decide.

How to Cook Salmon and Cucumber Burgers

The fish burgers can be an ideal choice for those who do not like to eat them a lot of fish, especially children. They are so delicious that you won’t even notice what they are made of. You can make recipes with tuna, salmon, monkfish, or other types of fish. We have prepared a salmon with cucumber sauce. Sounds good, right? Take note because, in just 20 minutes, you can enjoy this delicious burger. These are the ingredients you should look for:

  • 500 g of salmon
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 egg
  • 100 g of breadcrumbs
  • Hamburger bun (optional)
  • Lettuce
  • 1 Greek yogurt
  • 2 cucumbers
  • 1 clove garlic
  • Fine herb spices and dill

Do you already have the ingredients? Now preparing them will be very easy.

  • Dice the salmon (if there are bones, remove them). Mix them with the breadcrumbs, egg, and mustard.
  • Mix well and shape them into a hamburger with your hands or with the help of a fork. Put them in the pan (when the oil is hot) and let them brown. Important! Don’t move them too much to prevent them from falling apart.
  • Make a sauce with the cucumbers. Take all the ingredients (yogurt, cucumber, garlic, and spices) and blend them in a blender or food processor.
  • Once you have the sauce, prepare the bread (if you don’t want to use bread, serve directly on the plate). Place the hamburger, and some lettuce leaves on top of it. Dump a few tablespoons of the cucumber sauce, and eat!
