Things Not to Do During an Economic Crisis

You lose money when you go to the store, settle for low pay, or lie on the couch instead of acting.

1. Spend money without accounting

Money loves counting, and this is not just a common phrase but an action guide. Until you keep track of your expenses, you do not know where the funds are flowing, and you cannot intelligently reduce spending, even if necessary.

Many convenient applications allow you to quickly and easily record all your expenses. Once it becomes a habit, you will stop attaching importance to it, but you can see what you spent your money on every month.

2. Do not save at least 100 rubles a day

Saving 100-200 rubles every day, you can buy yourself the headphones you have dreamed of for a long time or make a gift to a loved one at the end of the month.

Do not be afraid that after you decide to save such a small amount every day, your quality of life will deteriorate dramatically. You will not feel the difference in practice, still buying everything you need and not so much. However, you may afford to spend a little bit more than usual at the end of the month or year.

3. Ignore discounts

It is not only pleasant to use discounts (you deceived the system and bought the product several times cheaper than they tried to sell it to you) but also really profitable. There is nothing wrong with buying groceries at discounted prices, going to the movies for half the price, and taking advantage of the special offers of restaurants, cafes, and delivery services.

You will not look poorer in the eyes of others - most likely, they will appreciate your pragmatic approach.

Updating your clothes outside of the season will become a beneficial habit: Winter boots are typically less expensive in the summer, and after a few months, they will certainly come in handy.

4. Go to the store without a shopping list

This has long been considered bad manners. You will get as much food as you cannot eat, and as a result, you will be wasting money.

If you keep forgetting the lists, keep notes in the mobile app. Thus, the inventory list will always be available, and the temptation to buy too much will diminish.

5. Parting with money too quickly

Today, a transaction takes a matter of seconds, which has its drawbacks in addition to absolute advantages. Without thinking, we insert the card into the terminal - and the money flies from the account. At the same time, we cease to distinguish between the purchase of essential things and everything without which we will live peacefully.

Don't make major purchases on impulse. Follow the 24-hour rule: if after a day you are still ready to buy an item or pay for a service, pay. But often, you can easily abandon yesterday's idea.

6. Do not use a bank card with a cashback

It turns out that you can be in the black without reducing your costs, but even vice versa. Nearly all banks now provide debit cards with cashback. It remains only to compare their advantages and disadvantages and release a suitable one.

Usually, you can select categories for which the cashback will be increased. So, if you drive a car, it will be convenient to return to your account a larger percentage of the amount spent on gasoline.

7. Get advertised

Advertising on the Internet and TV in one way or another affects our shopping preferences. We want to buy the same toothpaste that the adorable blonde from the video used. And it doesn't matter that this product differs from its analogs only in price.

Approach consumption more consciously, choosing items based on quality, not promotion. This will allow you not to overpay for the brand.

8. Continue doing things that bring little money

Work for work is a heroic approach but hardly practical. Any work should be paid, and preferably in such a way that you can admit to yourself: "Yes, I really am worth this much."

Continuing to work in a low-paying job that no longer allows you to live a full life, you are depriving yourself of the daily joys. Gather your will in a fist and find a new place for yourself where you will be appreciated as a specialist, and the gratitude for the work that comes at stake will suit you.

9. Don't use your free time to earn more

Your time and energy are valuable resources that allow you to get more. If you don't waste them, of course.

Even working 8 hours a day, you can find opportunities for additional income.

For example, get a taxi service job and give people a lift on the way from work, walk with a neighbor's dog, or monetize your hobby.

10. Do not pay enough attention to your main asset - health

If your work has become prolonged stress, the work process itself has long been no longer satisfying, and after all, you have no desire to spend what you earned, this is a cause for concern.

There won't be wellbeing or happiness - there will not be everything else. Do not be lazy to go to the gym, watch your sleep, take vitamins on time - do whatever is necessary to stay in good shape.
