How to Make a DIY Table at Home

Take any table in your house that you want to change and apply this technique. It will be a new table.

You have to keep in mind that if you cannot find colored newspaper, you can use a common one and give it color with a very diluted aniline alcohol wash. If you would like to know how to do it, look at this article.

Step One

First of all, apply a coat of water-based paint to the entire table to seal the wood. Let it dry. Cut the newspaper sheets by hand into pieces of approximately 5 x 5 cm. Perform the "cartapesta" technique by gluing the pieces of paper with glue until the table's entire surface is covered, except the lid.

Step Two

Then seal with shellac, all parts of the table covered with aluminum foil. Rinse some sectors by passing a cloth soaked in alcohol.

Step Three

Photocopy the chosen motif and cut the sheet's photocopy into several parts, as if it were a puzzle, stick it on the tabletop with wallpaper glue. Let it dry.
